Working groups

Objectives

The working groups form the very core of the Forum and share two main objectives. On the one hand, they aim to reflect collectively on the obstacles and conflicts that hinder the promotion of convivence, to share inspiring experiences based on concrete achievements, and to coordinate efforts among participants; on the other hand, they seek to propose practical initiatives that bring to life and ensure continuity of the principles of the International Day of Living Together in Peace.

Objective 1

  • Identify obstacles and analyse the conflicts affecting the promotion of convivence;
  • Describe the means used to overcome them;
  • Share experiences and draw inspiration from others’ successes;
  • Coordinate efforts to contribute concretely to a world of greater convivence.

Objective 2

Identify concrete ways to implement the objectives of the International Day of Living Together in Peace.

To achieve this, the aim is to compile a collection of ideas —whether already implemented or not— on how to celebrate this day, in line with the spirit and objectives defined by the United Nations, which seeks to:

  • mobilise the international community in favour of peace, tolerance, inclusion, understanding and solidarity;
  • encourage States, international organisations and civil society to organise educational and awareness-raising activities;
  • promote reconciliation, forgiveness and compassion, thereby contributing to lasting peace and sustainable development.

Approach

The approach of the working groups is based on the “Principles of the Forum”, as set out in the section “Introduction to the Córdoba Forum”.

“The practice of the Forum is based on a form of ‘diapraxis’, grounded in positive and inspiring experiences oriented towards action. The objective lies not only in what each participant brings, but also in what they take away and put into practice in their own context, as well as in the connections established between participants.”

Within this framework, the Córdoba Forum seeks to foster the sharing of concrete experiences, encourage the creation of links and joint projects, and emphasise the real impact of exchanges beyond the Forum itself.

Working method

Each participant will be able to express themselves freely within the working groups, whether to present an experience, respond to other participants’ contributions, or address issues related to the International Day of Living Together in Peace.

To ensure consistency across the final reports, rapporteurs will structure their contributions around the following areas:

  1. Conflicts
  2. Education
  3. Culture
  4. Youth contribution
  5. Integration (migration)

The reports will not mention participants’ names, but will instead reflect the substance of the discussions and the general trends identified.
