World Convivence Forum
Who we are
Our initiative is rooted in the spirit of convivence, which sees dialogue between cultures, religions and generations as the foundation for living together in peace. Inspired by the history of Córdoba, we work to restore the city as an international reference for mutual understanding and respect. We believe that diversity is not a problem to be managed, but a richness to be protected, listened to and valued. That is why we promote spaces where dialogue replaces conflict and cooperation overcomes mistrust.
From this perspective, we promote the idea of Córdoba as the capital of Convivence, heir to a tradition of encounter between East and West. We understand the city as a bridge where experiences, knowledge and shared memories of the Mediterranean come together. Our aim is to project Córdoba as a living laboratory for dialogue, capable of inspiring policies, projects and partnerships beyond its borders.
Within this framework, the Córdoba Forums emerge as open gatherings bringing together civil society, academia, institutions and young people; spaces for reflection and action where good practices are shared, networks are built and joint projects are designed within the framework of convivence

WHO WE ARE
Origins of the Forum
The PARADIGMA CÓRDOBA FOUNDATION FOR CONVIVENCE, based in the Torre de la Calahorra in Córdoba, continues the work of the foundation established in 1987 by the French thinker Roger Garaudy, whose activity in Córdoba was particularly notable, especially in promoting convivence between cultures. In 2010, the Foundation changed its name to Fundación Paradigma Córdoba and, in 2022, adopted its current name: Fundación Paradigma Córdoba para la Convivencia.
CHALLENGES
We need convivence
We all suffer the consequences of one of the most widespread problems of our time: a lack of mutual understanding and acceptance at all levels. Faced with disputes, differences and injustices, our world has a strong need for a “minimum common ideal”, an ideal that allows us to live together: convivence.
1

Aspirations
The Córdoba Forum aims to collect, share, discuss and disseminate concrete success stories that contribute to a world of greater convivence, helping people live better in peace and harmony. It also aims to build a strong network of such examples and to act as a public platform for them.
2

Objectives
The Forum does not aim to adopt general resolutions on any subject —including convivence— except in cases of urgent and unanimous consensus among its participants.
3

Participants
Participants in the Córdoba Forum are invited to see themselves above all as members of a network in which they are encouraged to establish bilateral or multilateral links, and even to engage in collective projects, drawing inspiration from each other’s positive experiences. Negative experiences will only be shared if they provide important general lessons.
